Managed Service on behalf of
Indoor Creative Areas
An effective ‘
Indoor Creative Area’ would include many features. This should
be:
- Inviting, well-resourced, and where possible, positioned within
a non-carpeted area
- Situated in an area near washing facilities, aprons, washing
lines and drying racks
- Offer a range of resources which are well- labelled and
accessible for independent use
- Provide a range of open-ended resources which encourage
creative processes and products
- Modelled with attention drawn to any Health and Safety issues.
For example, the holding of scissors and use of other tools
- Enhanced with photographs, books and creative stimuli to
promote creativity
- In an area which includes display opportunities and washing
lines for children and adults to share processes and products
- Regularly monitored to ensure that supplies do not run out
- Offer opportunities for large scale creative experiences,
outdoors
- Make use of the natural environment, especially when
outdoors
- Provide enhanced provision which builds on the children’s
interests, possible themes and on-going observations.
