Managed Service on behalf of
Indoor Sand and Water
Provision
An effective ‘ Sand and Water Area’
would include many features. This should be:
- Positioned in a place which takes into
account Health and Safety aspects
- Attractive, inviting and suitably
resourced
- Contain a range of continuous provision which
is well-labelled and easily accessible for all children
- Offer space near it for the children to have
room to expand and explore
- Be enhanced with provision such as small
world objects, images around themes and sand and water books
- Be linked to investigations, where
appropriate
- Different outdoors to indoors. Outdoors
presents opportunities to work at a larger scale and make more
mess
- Regularly enhanced according to interests,
possible themes and on-going observations .
