Managed Service on behalf of
EYFS Profile Data
The usefulness of data depends on its accuracy. Practitioners,
school managers, setting leaders and local authorities have the
responsibility of ensuring the quality, accuracy and reliability of
data. These responsibilities are outlined on page 7 of the EYFS
profile handbook.
The average national scale point score, which aggregates the
summary score data submitted by local authorites, is published
annually by DCSF at www.dcsf.gov.uk/rsgateway/contents.shtml
Data Submission
Results must be submitted by the end of June
and should be returned only once for each child who will be five
years old on or before 31st August 2010. Schools will
receive further information from the Performance Information
Management Team with the relevant dates in term 5. All data
collected by Performance Management is accessible to the schools
via the secure data
exchange.
Please note:
- If a child starts a new school before the
summer half-term holiday (the sixth term) the new school must
report the child’s results to the LA.
- If a child starts at a new school during the
second half of the summer term (the sixth term), the previous
school or setting must report the child’s results to the LA.
Please refer to the Assessment and Reporting
Arrangements 2010 for details on exceptions and alternative
assessments. (page 14)
End of Year Quality Assurance
- Headteachers are required to sign a letter of
compliance when submitting data to the Performance Information
Management Team.
- By signing this Headteachers are confirming
that they have checked and quality assured data prior to its
submission to the Local Authority.
- The data will also be quality assured by the
Local Authority.
- Any anomalies will be followed up by a phone
call/ visit to ensure that data submitted is accurate. This is
essential in order to fulfil the main purpose of the EYFS
Profile.
